Who it applies to:
Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes (goods) and 3.5 tonnes (trailers) operating in Europe.
What it requires:
The regulation mandates the use of retroreflective tape to mark the rear and sides of these vehicles, making them more visible to other road users.
Tape specifications:
Must be ECE 104 Class C certified (the highest reflective grade).
Available in three colors:
White – side markings
Yellow – side markings (alternative)
Red – rear markings
Placement requirements:
Tape must outline the entire rear of the vehicle.
On the sides, it should be applied as a continuous line (or as much as possible) to indicate the full length.
